February Updates

Posted 28 February, 2017 by Lianne in Website / 4 Comments

Goodness, it’s already the end of February and two months into 2017? Seems like yesterday I was just getting ready to celebrate another blogoversary! Anyway, I hope everyone had a lovely February; mine was fairly busy, a shock considering I was thinking it was going to be a quiet one, but anyhow, here’s what has been going on at my blog in the meantime:

+++

  1. Books reviewed this month include: Vivienne Lorret’s When a Marquess Loves a Woman (review), J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun (review), and Elena Ferrante’s Troubling Love (review). You can check out all the books I’ve reviewed recently in the book review tag.
  2. One ARC was reviewed this month: Colleen Oakley’s Close Enough to Touch (review). You can check out all of the ARCs I’ve read and reviewed to date in this tag.
  3. For this month’s So You Want to Read…, I focused on Amanda Grange and her Jane Austen hero books (seemed like the perfect time of year to be showcasing her books, especially now that I have read all six Jane Austen hero novels) πŸ™‚ You can check out that post over here. For all my previous recommendations under this feature, check out this tag.
  4. And finally, I celebrated my tenth blogoversary earlier this month (see post). I can’t believe it’s been ten years since I first started steadily book blogging. Thanks again to everyone who commented and celebrated with me, and congratulations again to Wattle in winning my wee book giveaway! I hope you enjoy the title you selected πŸ™‚

And that’s about it from me and the blog for the month of February! How was your February? Wishing you all a wonderful March & that you’re having a great week πŸ™‚

eclectictales.com is back!

And at long last eclectictales.com is back online! Being on a month’s hiatus was a bit weird, in some ways good as I needed the break (plus offline matters kept me pretty busy–more on that next week) and in some ways a bit stressful as I was busy transferring to my new host. I am kindly hosted by Lorraine @ InsanitySandwich.com (many thanks again!). Funnily enough (well, not really) it was no easy task as having a nine-year-old blog meant that my database was quite a hefty one to transfer over. At this point most of the kinks were resolved–I think I lost one or two comments along the way (so sorry!)–and it’s just a matter of updating the backend, reinstalling some plugins I’ve been using (regular visitors may note that I’m missing a few features like the “Related Posts” section), reorganising my blog posts, all of which should be sorted out in the coming weeks.

But in the meantime the blog is live again! Regularly scheduled posts will resume next week; good fun, for the next few months you will be seeing a lot of reviews for books read at the tail end of last year >_< (which is okay as I haven't been reading much the last few weeks, lol; again, more on that next week when I post my Bookish & Not-So-Bookish Post). In the meantime, please let me know if you come across anything that seems amiss and I will look into it πŸ™‚ Otherwise, happy new year! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season and are having a lovely 2017 thus far πŸ˜€ (And just for a quick update on my end: I'm currenty reading through an ARC of Nick Cutter's Little Heaven (out on the 14th!), been otherwise busy with work and waiting impatiently in the mail for a ton of planner stickers I ordered in the last few weeks (you may have noticed this if you follow my Instagram πŸ˜‰ ))

  5. Just a heads up that I will be moving servers early next month as my present host, AP Web Solutions will be closing their doors in the new year. As I’m still sorting it out at present, I decided that the blog will be going on a mini-hiatus from December 1st to December 11th with everything hopefully being sorted out by December 12th. Thank you for your patience during this time, you can keep up with the news on how things are going over at Twitter.
