Moving along with the Miyazaki movies, I decided to watch this movie next. I had been curious about this one because I never read Ursula Le Guin’s Earthsea novels–been meaning to but never got around to them–and I had read somewhere that Miyazaki had always been keen to adapt them into a movie. Of course, this movie was directed by his son but nonetheless I was intrigued by the story.

I am slowly going through Hayao Miyazaki’s filmography, lol, which started with Howl’s Moving Castle (review). I saw the trailer to this movie and it looked wonderful so I decided to check this movie out. Contains some spoilers ahead!

I’ve been wanting to watch this movie for the longest time. Then I read the book by Diana Wynne Jones (review) and absolutely loved it to pieces. I got the blu-ray for my birthday, which I was pretty thrilled about so yeah, finally got to watch it =) May contain some spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched the movie and read the novel it was adapted from!
