Article: Femnista [Sept/Oct 2011]

Posted 10 October, 2011 by Lianne in Writing / 0 Comments

Despite frantically working to finish my thesis last month and scrambling to study for my Russian language translation exam, I did manage to find the time to write an article to the new ezine, Femnista, produced by Charity from Charity’s Place. This issue features favourite literary men, and as some of you many have figured, I wrote on Persuasion‘s Captain Frederick Wentworth. It was a toss up between him and North and South‘s John Thornton but in the end I chose Wentworth for reasons that my article will convey. Anyways, you can check it out by reading it online or downloading the issue. Enjoy!

Article: Costume Chronicles [Nov/Dec 2010]

Posted 4 December, 2010 by Lianne in Writing / 0 Comments

So the November – December issue of Costume Chronicles was released earlier this week and my article is featured in there! It’s called “Anne Elliot, Jane Austen’s Quiet Heroine”, which focuses on the character of Anne Elliot from Persuasion. Of course I would choose a subject from Persuasion given it’s my favourite novel by Austen and Anne is my favourite Austen heroine. There’s just so many aspects about her you could talk about. I also realised that Wentworth has a lot more going in his character as well. If I had time or if I had done things differently, I may have had focused on him in the article. Oh well, maybe I’ll post that commentary here instead sometime 😉 Anyways, you can download the issue at their website; I hope you guys enjoy it!

Well, the September – October issue of Costume Chronicles was released on October 2nd and my article is featured in there! It’s called “Mark Antony, the Conflicted Rock Star of Rome”, which, as the title suggests, focuses on the character Mark Antony from HBO’s Rome. You can download the issue at their website; I hope you guys enjoy it!
