eclectic tales is back!

I’m back! Meant to post this sooner but I was busy when I returned to Canada on the 10th and then I got sick shortly afterwards (still recovering; spent the last few days in bed weak AF spurred further by my irritation over the crap writing from the latest episode of Game of Thrones *shrugs*). But anyway, I’m back from almost two weeks bouncing around in Europe lol (so much so that Rogers (the company I’m with for my phone) stopped messaging me after a while telling me about their roaming fees, ahahahaha), namely the Netherlands and Iceland but with some day trips/layovers in Belgium and Germany.

Fingers crossed I will properly post about my time there at some point here in my blog (I know I said this about Portugal and then never did. Oops. Still sifting through those photos to be honest!). But in the meantime I did post a bit over at Instagram 🙂

Travel: My Time in Denmark (Day 6)

At long last I am making my travel posts! Oh yes, that’s right, for about the next two weeks I am going to be posting, day by day, photos from my trip back in April and May to Iceland and Denmark 😀

Alas, here we are on the day 6, my final day in Denmark and on my trip as a whole (the 7th day doesn’t really count as it was spent travelling back). I spent my last day in Denmark back in Copenhagen, taking it easy. I really wanted to go to the National Museum of Denmark so that was where I went that morning 🙂

Travel: My Time in Denmark (Day 5)

Day 5 in Denmark! At this point my foot was much better, my cold was still raging, my skin allergies were driving me nuts, and the selfies dwindled between that and my hair refusing to cooperate. Otherwise, onward I went! 😛 For my final day trip outside of Copenhagen I went to Hillerød to visit Fredriksborg Slot (my time in Denmark pretty much consisted of me visiting as many castles and palaces as possible, lol). I think the words I used to describe the place was “idyllic” and “pictaresque” as you will see in the photos 🙂 Again, relaxing trip although the signs were a little ridiculous in this town and it took quite a bit to get my sense of direction how to get to the castle (I wasn’t the only one, as I would find out walking along).

Oh, I should note, this was the only time during my time in Denmark when the weather was actually cloudy/rained a bit! Quite the contrast from the elements thrown at me whilst in Iceland xD

Travel: My Time in Denmark (Day 4)

At long last I am making my travel posts! Oh yes, that’s right, for about the next two weeks I am going to be posting, day by day, photos from my trip back in April and May to Iceland and Denmark 😀

My fourth day in Denmark was a bit busy. My foot was still bothering me but it wasn’t as bad as it was the previous day when I was in Helsingor (again, bummer that I couldn’t stay in Sweden for much longer as it was hurting so much). However I had a new development to my health: I came down with a cold. It really sucked, I was so mad (I could still taste my food but it was a pain to stop every so often to blow my nose). Talk about everything happening in the second half of my trip! 🙁

Anyhow, I took a day trip to Roskilde on this day. Roskilde is about 30-40 minutes away from Copenhagen and it’s quite an important city historically as it does house the tombs of the Danish Royal Family (right up to present day). So I was curious to see the cathedral. Despite my runny nose, the trip itself was quite relaxed, you could just stroll up and down the street leisurely. Like Helsingor it was also quite easy to navigate to wherever it is you want to go as the street signs are pretty straightforward.

Travel: My Time in Denmark (Day 3)

Here we are at Day 3 of my time in Denmark. Day 3 saw me take my first day tour out of Copenhagen north to Helsingor, home of Kronborg Slot, otherwise known as Hamlet’s castle. The location is gorgeous; I had arrived quite early before the castle opened so I was wandering the grounds but also sitting against the coast and just staring out into the sea. It was beautiful, peaceful (despite the wind and the roaring waters), and reminded me of Iceland <3
