Love to Hate You

Format/Source: eBook; my purchase
Sera is usually a good girl. (Except for one wild night in the backseat of a stranger’s car!) But what happens when that bad boy turns out to be her new boss? And what happens when he wants more than one night…and he can be very persuasive…
Whim purchase! It sounded like a fun read so I decided to pick it up 😉
I read Love to Hate You in one day. It was a fun read with some cute and hilarious moments between the lead characters. The supporting characters were great, namely Sera’s gay friends/father figures who cracked me up but were also so supportive of Sera through her ups and downs. Sera was an interesting character who was trying to keep it together as her family life was a wreck and something she was trying to keep under wraps away from everyone’s knowledge. But her digging her heels against Ben’s persistence (and he can be annoyingly persistent–wasn’t sure whether to be annoyed at times or applaud his efforts) could be especially exhausting at times (which one character eventually pointed out). Ben meanwhile can be ridiculously charming and big-hearted, but then he could also be very confusing and, as Sera pointed out, very cocky. I did find myself wondering how can he be all these things rolled in one, lol. I mean, at the end of the day these two characters just had a lot of baggage that needed to be stated clearly before anything could move forward.
In the end I thought the novel was entertaining enough but already as I type this I’ve forgotten much about the story. Oh, I do remember the final streak of danger/conflict seemed almost tacked on because everything else already was resolved/the dust settled. But yeah, it’s a fun read it you’re looking for something to check out and sit back to for some fun but otherwise, it was okay.
