I saw Kara and Jenni Elyse do this meme a little while ago and thought of snagging it and doing it myself. Not only does it look like fun but it’s nice to think about all the things that makes one happy every now and then, yes? 🙂

  • Persuasion by Jane Austen (review)
  • The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien (review #1, #2, #3)
  • The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien (review)
  • Captain Wentworth’s Diary (review) and Colonel Brandon’s Diary (review forthcoming) by Amanda Grange
  • The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen (review)
  • Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones (review)
  • Anything by Julia Quinn (see author tag) and Caroline Linden (see author tag)
  • New books! 😛

  • eclectic
  • succinct
  • copious

  • travel
  • cielo (words in other languages count, right? 😛 )

Movies/TV Shows

  • Jane Austen adaptations
  • BBC’s North & South
  • Miranda
  • The Thick of It (very good show to de-stress to 😛 )
  • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
  • The Young Victoria (2009)
  • Amelie (2001)
  • Tangled (2012)
  • Studio Ghibli movies 🙂

  • coffee
  • thyme
  • basil
  • peppermint
  • mountain air (whatever that really smells like, lol)

  • mail (not bills though!)
  • bookstores
  • travelling
  • mountains
  • long trips on a train
  • coffee

And that’s my list of things that make me happy 🙂 What books/movies/songs/etc make you happy? Link up if you do this meme, I’d love to read your answers! 😀

  1. Love your list! 🙂 I love the smell of coffee too. I don’t drink it, so whenever I go down the coffee aisle at the store, I just sniff until my heart’s content. 🙂

  2. I love your list, especially your miscellaneous section. I love receiving real mail, you get so little these days! And long trips by train are the best for relaxing, reading and seeing the landscape of a country.

  3. Yay for happy! 😀 Persuasion, Tolkien, Amanda Grange? Yes yes! And for some odd reason I’ve never finished Howl’s Moving Castle. I started it a couple years ago, and even liked it!, but I still haven’t finished yet. Must remedy that asap!

I’m with Birdie, your miscellaneous section is excellent! As is your movies/tv section. Period dramas for the win! 🙂

    • Oh man, you definitely need to finish reading Howl’s Moving Castle! Such a hilarious book…did you see the animated adaptation from Studio Ghibli? Such a wonderful movie *happy sigh*

      Aww, thank you 🙂
