2014 Shakespeare Reading Challenge hosted by caffeinatedlife.net

And here we are, at the end of another year, and thus at the end of one of the three reading challenges I participated in this year. Just a recap about the reading challenge I hosted: the idea was to read William Shakespeare’s original plays and/or sonnets. The master list containing details about the challenge can be found in this post and the master list of reviews over here.

Levels (sorry, not feeling very creative coming up with these levels, lol; I’m pretty laxed about this):

  • 1 – 4 plays — Occasional theatre-goer
  • 5 – 9 plays — Frequent theatre-goer
  • 10 – 12 plays — Regular theatre-goer

So what did I read? 🙂

So, having read all of my these plays this year, what was my favourite? Julius Caesar, though Othello comes close in all of the feels it evoked. What was my least favourite? The Taming of the Shrew for WTF reasons, but Cymbeline comes close for boredom factors.

And that’s a wrap! 🙂

Have you read any of these plays? If so, what did you think of them? If you participated in this reading challenge, what was your favourite work by Shakespeare that you read?

  1. I reread Macbeth (still didn’t enjoy it the second time around), and I also read Much Ado About Nothing, which I loved. I was hoping to make it to All’s Well That Ends Well, but I couldn’t find time. I’ll have to try again next year 🙂

    • Nice! With the second Hollow Crown series coming out next year (I believe–need to double check), I’ll be reading Shakespeare’s War of the Roses plays next year. Yay for more Shakespeare in 2015 😀
