Artist David Aja returns to the most critically acclaimed comic of 2012, as ace archer Clint Barton faces the digital doomsday of – DVR-Mageddon! Then: Cherry’s got a gun. And she looks good in it. And Hawkeye gets very, very distracted. Plus: Valentine’s Day with the heartthrob of the Marvel Universe? This will be…confusing.

Marvel architect Matt Fraction continues his exciting, adventurous reinvention of the arrowed Avenger!

COLLECTING: Hawkeye 6-11

I’ve read the first volume of the series last year (review) and absolutely adored it so I just had to pick up the second volume 😀

Gosh, what can I say about this volume? Clint Barton’s antics continue into this volume as his ex-wife, his current girlfriend and an former lover all drop in at some point throughout the volume, while at the same time dealing with forces of nature and facing track suit criminals. Some are a continuation from the previous volume but other stories are standalones, which are also great. I also love the little mentions about the Avengers and Tony Stark showing up, which made it even more fun. And of course there’s Clint and Kate Bishop’s story and the strain that they’re undergoing as they’re struggling to go on with their lives.

The art, as always, was exceptional; I love the story, but the art really adds to it. I especially enjoyed the standalone featuring Lucky, Clint’s dog (I had actually picked up the issue months back when I first heard of it). It’s a fun story–Lucky’s a smart dog (if I didn’t know that already)–with a clever use of images and Aja’s art, but it also ties in to Clint and Kate’s story as well.

This entry is clearly not doing the volume any justice but it’s an awesome comic that continues on Clint and Kate’s adventures. It has everything–humour, great art, action, etc, Definitely worth checking out.
